&lt;p&gt;President Obama&lt;a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/23/us/politics/23text-obama.htm?_r=2&amp;amp;pagewanted=all"&gt; said this week&lt;/a&gt; that the bill, which would cap global warming pollution and result in clean energy investments that &lt;a href="http://www.nrdc.org/energy/greenjobs/"&gt;create new jobs&lt;/a&gt;, would "&lt;strong&gt;open the door to a better future for this nation&lt;/strong&gt;."&lt;/p&gt;
